The CubJam team were really touched by some of the messages coming through to them from the families and supporters of the contingents during CubJam, and from everyone afterwards too. Here's a selection so far:
"This is the second time I have had a child on Cubjam and the difference for us parents is huge. Last time round you were somewhat limited by the lack of technology, but this time with the ease of uploading photo's, blogs, comments and FM we at home have felt as included (almost) as our lad. This is such a wonderful idea - I know how exhausting it is, I have held a warrant myself, but you are ALL heroes. The work you do for our kids, for children you barely know, is magnificent and it is very comforting for a parent to send our beloved kids away knowing that they are being looked after by people as dedicated and caring as you all. Our son has come back having totally enjoyed his experience and is only disappointed to know that there isn't a Cubjam next year!!!!! You all deserve a huge pat on the back, your work is so often unrecognised, but I know your reward is on the faces and in the eyes of your young charges - and in your first beer/wine/cider post-Jam!!!!!!! Fantastic work and a million thank you's to you all."
"After 25 years in Scouting I finally decided to join a week long camp with trepidation. Can I on behalf of my exhausted Cubs and the other leaders say an enormous thank you for making every thing to do with Cubjam so enjoyable. The Cubs have had an amazing unforgetable time and the adults (now they have caught up on their sleep) thoroughly enjoyed themselves too. Any minor hiccups were quickly sorted out and we were very impressed with the great organisation. Thank you very much from the one and only Norfolk contingent,1st Rural(Roughton Mill)."
"It was a great event. Thanks to you, the Notting Hill Subcamp team and all the organisers for a great event. As everybody else has pointed out there were loads of highs. The activities were good, the outings great fun [baring the long coach trip to Chessington], CubJam radio was a big hit, as was CubJams got talent, circus skills, the drumming workshop and the magic show. You even managed to get the weather just about right!! My cubs all really enjoyed it as did the leaders. We'll be back in 2013!!! "
"Thanks so much for the great pictures on line and Cubjam Fm, I think you are all fantastic, you can tell how much work has gone into this and it's certainly paid off! (even at drop off the staff were so helpful as i'm in a wheelchair) Its put all us parents minds at rest to see and hear what a great time you are all having, our children will remember this for the rest of their lives, thankyou, thankyou, thankyou!!"
"To all of Notting Hill sub Camp Team......Thanks for a brilliant week, great atmosphere, Cubs and Leaders had a fantastic time, we will be definitely be back in 2013 for 3rd time....."
"I would like to say a huge thanks to everyone involved in organising such a fantastic week. Our cubs thoroughly enjoyed themselves and we delivered some very tired but happy cubs home on Friday night ( a bit later than planned though due to one of our minibuses breaking down on the M25 which was fun!!). As leaders we also had a great time, roll on 2013!! "
"Hi Everyone. Thanks for a fantastic time. Its the first CUBJAM I have ever done and will definately be doing it again. What a great atmosphere. My cubs had a really great week and were absolutely exhausted when they got in the bus to come home. Thanks to everyone that organised the event, the Notting Hill Team and to everyone for being so friendly and supportive. (Even when I was the bus monitor on 3G ha ha) See you all again I hope"
"I would just like to add my thanks to all that made the event such a huge success - it was a great week (helped in no small part by the weather except of course for those that had problems with the rain that we did have). The youngsters certainly had a great time (as did the oldsters, too!). We even managed to carry on partying on Friday night with a BBQ for the contingent leaders (and their long suffering families), although I have to say that it was a more subdued affair than the Carnival on Thursday! I have spent most of the weekend on the 3 Rs (relaxing, recovering and reflecting), and I will definitely be up for the next one in four years time (might have to do a bit of arm-twisting on the rest of the leadership team tho'!).One thing that impressed me was how well the youngsters all mixed together - which is of course testament to the brotherhood/sisterhood of Scouting even with the younger members. If any local(ish) packs (or even those further afield) want to get together for some joint activities (be it a camp, a days activities or just an afternoon/evening), get in touch as I am sure that we will be up for it!"
"Thank you so much for such a fantastic week. The Cubs who came really enjoyed it and are hoping to persuade their aprents to become leaders so they can come as Scouts next time!"
"Hi to all the Cubjam FM peeps. I just want to say a HUGE thanks for keeping me and my office entertained all week, it has made missing Sam so much easier. I just am not sure what we are going to do next week now, will I have to go back to listening to Radio 1 - eeek not good at all!"
"We all had a fantastic time (including my youngest two!!) so ahuge thank you to the sub camp team for helping us to chill (!) and to everyone else involved in organising the camp. Also I hope you can pass on our thanks to Auntie Pauline in the launderette for helping us out with the aftermath of our flooded tent on Tuesday! The next CubJam is on our calender and our GSL has put in a request to be part of the leadership team next time (he was banned by his daughter last week as she didn't want her parents to cramp her style!!! So it looks like we'll have at least 4 leaders, 2 Explorers / Young Leaders and 2 Scouts to help us out. And that's before the present team have out in their requests!! It looks like a date!"
"Thanks once again to all the leaders and organisers - it's been incredible to follow this week's events on the website."
"I was part of the crew for the bank holiday weekend came home on the monday and have missed the fun and friendlyness of the place ever since i have been home. have listened to cubjamfm most nights and to be honest it has just rubbed in the fact that i am at home and missing out on all the fun. Wish i could of stayed for the week. Every single person there or at home who has helped or atained deserves a big pat on the back for making cubjam what it is. Amazing to see so many happy faces in one place."
