Staff Vacancies

We currently have the following vacancies for staff on the CUBJAM 2009 team

All vacancies are voluntary roles, and only authorised expenses will be paid
Staff will be required to pay for food costs at CUBJAM, other fees will be subsidised

CUBJAM FM PRESENTERS
(reporting to the Radio Station Manager and Technical Manager)

We have 2 vacancies for CUBJAM FM Presenters.


Applicant Requirements:
  • Scout Association CRB Clearance
  • Experience of camping and knowledge of Scout Association policies
  • Available to be at Gilwell Park between Fri 22nd May 2009 and Fri 29th May 2009 – although we will consider your application if you are only available for part of this time.
  • You MUST be over 18 years of age
  • Have previous presenting experience but not essential, DJ’s welcome to apply. Previous radio experience would be helpful
  • Computer skills would be helpful.
  • You need to be flexible in your working hours
  • Ability to work with Children of all ages (including cubs)
  • Really good sense of humour essential

Prior to the broadcast, presenters may be involved in:
  • researching topics and background information
  • planning and rehearsing shows
  • writing, and sometimes memorising, scripts

During the broadcast, presenters may be involved in:
  • introducing and hosting programmes
  • interviewing guests in the studio, by telephone, or on location
  • playing music
  • reading short news, or weather reports
  • providing links between programmes
  • reading from a script and/or autocue, or improvising
  • keeping the programme running to schedule - responding positively and quickly to problems or changes, and improvising where necessary.

Radio presenters on music shows usually 'drive' the desk and operate some of the technical equipment for recording and playback. This generally involves using computers, often with touch screens, to cue up and play music and jingles

Duties to include:
  • Working in CUBJAM FM alongside the CUBJAM FM team
  • Hosting or co hosting a radio show
  • Running games and Competitions
  • Operating the outside broadcast
  • You will be required to work through most of the day on a rota system (if you are not in the studio you will more than likely be out recording the cubs or editing recordings)
  • Assisting other CUBJAM teams as required
